Students continued their exploration of Scratch by creating pong games. They practiced applying programing language (variable, conditional, iteration) to this new and fun scenario. At times it can be frustrating, but each time the game "glitches" there is an amazing learning opportunity. Errors actually help students gain a deeper understanding of how the program works.
Now that students know how to code a simple game, they are starting to work with partners to create a new game. In the past, some students have programed fruit ninja games, musical pianos, water fights, and more. Time to get creative! Last but not least, we demoed Makey Makey, an invention kit that can hack the keyboard and turn everyday objects into touch pads. Check out this cool tool HERE.
